About the Artist

Sean Alexander, artist quote from interview with Stereotype Co

Sean Alexander is a mixed-media contemporary artist From the Boston, MA area.

His work tends to focus on bright, colorful, and edgy paintings that blend pop art, abstract, and street art together to create truly one of a kind original pieces.

Growing up, he would often daydream about escaping his chaotic, unstable, and sometimes violent surroundings by envisioning warm and peaceful places like California and Miami beaches - drawing things like palm trees, graffiti, exotic cars, dollar signs, and other symbols of luxury - a trait that has stuck with him and carries over into much of the imagery displayed in his current work.

For him, it's not about the material value of those objects he often draws (cars, boats, money, graffiti) or the locations he frequently references (California, LA, Miami) - it's about what those things meant to a boy who dreamed of someday creating a better life by drawing it on paper.

He uses art as a way to transfer his thoughts, emotions, and life experiences onto canvas - allowing him to challenge the "traditional" way of thinking and put his unique twist on each and every painting.
